Mystic Tree - Trish The-Dish

Mystic Tree

The Mystic Tree is a gift from Maxis given to Simmers who have kept their accounts active for two accrued years.  They truly are mystic, and, in this writer's opinion, are the most interesting object within The Sims Online.  At night, the Mystic Tree has a glow to it.  Viewing the Mystic Tree brings up the Sim's comfort and fun needs.
The tree can be taken out of inventory and put back at any time, but it cannot be traded in secure trade. You must live in a store to sell your tree.

When it is your time to receive a Mystic Tree, you will see a mystery gift box in your inventory. This box will have 50% wear (so you can distinguish it from the green box with a cannon inside).
Click the green box, and do just as it says. Just Add Water!
Your sim will pull a watering bucket from its "back pocket", and...
Voila! Mystic Tree!
Your sim will jump and scream in celebration.

The Tree has five stages:

Dormant trees are all brown and look like they have no life in them.  (This stage lasts 2 hours, 15 min)
Blooming trees have leaves and blooms.  Viewing a tree in this stage gives more fun than any of the others.  A Sim can gain full fun from having no fun in 7 views.  (This stage lasts 4 hours, 30 min)
New Fruit gives green fruit to eat.  The fruit will boost your needs slightly.  (This stage lasts 6 hours, 15 min)
Mature Fruit gives small pink fruit to eat.  The fruit will make all of your needs "full green".  (This stage lasts 9 hours, 15 min)
Ripe Fruit gives large pink fruit to eat.  This fruit will give you one random skill point.   (Ripe fruit stays until you eat it)
The following happens when you click "Eat Ripe Fruit". The tree still looks the same as you eat the first piece of fruit. Once you pick the second piece, your tree goes back to the dormant stage, and you have to wait 22 1/4 hours for the tree to cycle back to ripe fruit.

The Tree will want watered every two hours (every Sim day). You have several options for watering:

  • Manual - Your Sim clicks the tree and chooses Water from the Pie menu.  You can also set up a Sprinkler or Sprayer near the tree and just turn it on when your tree needs watered.
  • Gardener - The gardener can be hired to water the trees.  He  will arrive every three sim days, however, so you will have to manually water twice in between his visits.
  • Irrigation Systems - With Sprinklers or Sprayers, you can set up a system for your watering.  You just need to set up the automatic timer so the water can stop and start.   If the water never stops, the tree will still think it needs watered.  The 30 min setting works well for this. Also, there needs to be a space in the area (no tic tac toe box with a sprayer in the middle), and, as with all build mode plants, you must have land connecting the trees and the sprayer.
