| Door and property permissions |
So youve bought that property and built that house of your Sim
dreams; but now you'd like to be able to enjoy it in peace! The
Sims Online includes features which allow you to set who can come over,
and where they cannot go once they do arrive!
Sometimes youd just like to sit at your home by yourself, or perhaps
youre holding a special event limited to only certain guests, or
maybe you have a pesky troublemaker youd like to keep out for good.
Applying settings to your lot can be a helpful solution to your
problems.
On your Sims control panel, enter into Property Mode. Here
you will find your Admit/Ban lists.
Once youve chosen the above option, you will see four settings:

|
Admit All
|
Allows all Sims to enter your lot. |
|
Admit List
|
Allows selected Sims to enter your lot. |
|
Ban List
|
Bans selected Sims from entering your lot. |
|
Ban All
|
Bans all Sims from entering your lot. |
To add a Sim to your Admit/Ban lists, bring up his or her
Sim Page and choose the tab labeled Sim Permission Options.
Here you will find that you can add a Sim to either list by ticking
the box. If you view your Admit/Ban lists now, you will see a picture
of each Sim added to the lists

Just remember that if you do ban an unwanted guest, this
does not automatically put that sim on ignore. So if you booted
and banned an unruly guest, make sure you place him or her on ignore if
you do not wish to hear from that sim.
If you
attempt to visit a lot, and it is not open to guests at that time, you
will receive a message stating this. You can prevent this by making
sure to read the property description to see if the lot is open to guests
or if it says you must ask to be let in. That way, you may save
yourself the trouble of failing to join beforehand.
All roommates have access to the Admit/Ban settings. Therefore,
it is helpful to discuss with your roommates who should or should not
be on which list. Any roommate is able to add or remove people from
the lists and change them at any time. So be sure that you all agree!
Ever get mad
that people will just walk into your room and use it as they please?
Maybe youre a hotel and youd like people to pay for your rooms?
Or perhaps youve built a maze for people to find special codes to move
on?
By changing the settings on your doors, you can choose the option that
will work best for your home. Each door must be set individually;
setting one door will not set them all. All doors work the same,
with the exception of the One-way door.
Once you have a door on which youd like to set permissions, click
on it and youll find two options:

View Permissions will allow you to see the permissions
already set on the door. All Sims can view the permission settings
on each door.

Selecting Roommates Only will allow you to set the permissions
on the door.
Once youve selected that, youll find three options for your door:
Code Door - Allows you to set a secret code on your door, must be numeric
and between 1-9 numbers long.
.
Pay Door - Charges Sims who use that door. Sims can choose
whether or not they wish to pay, however if they dont wish to pay,
they cant enter. This option will charge the Sim using the
door going in and out. There is also the ability to exempt friends
from paying.

Admit Door - Similar to the Admit/Ban list on the property, this
setting allows you to choose if youd like your Friends or Visitors
to be able to enter your room. Roommates can enter the room freely.

Now remember that exception I mentioned?

| This door is set so that Sims can only
enter from one direction. It is a good idea if you dont
want to double-charge a Sim for using a door upon exiting if they've
entered through a pay door. It is great for mazes. It
is also great if youre having a competition perhaps a
gnome-off and do not want anyone just wandering in, but would
like to let your competitors leave when they are done. |
  |
Once again, all roommates have the ability to change the door permissions,
so make sure you and your roommates agree upon their settings.
Enjoy your home!
